Gladys Boss clinched the seat after garnering 198 votes against her closest competitor, Dadaab Member of Parliament Farah Maalim, who got 139 votes.The voting was set to go for the second round, since none of the candidates had acquired the required two-thirds of votes needed, but Maaalim withdrew from the race, leaving Gladys Boss as the winner.Soon after been declared the winner Gladys Boss took her oath as Deputy Speaker before Newly-elected Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula.
