Government have set measures to curb insecurity menace associated with illegalized cattle rustling activities. However, the matter has not been fully resolved as cases of killings by armed bandits in pastoralism belt is still being witnessed. Yesterday, details emerged that former Member of County Assembly (MCA) was shot dead by bandits.According to information disclosed by former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya, the late Kaliunga Balala was killed by bandits while on persuit of stolen livestock.Taking to his twitter account, Munya said, “I am deeply saddened by the sad news of the passing on of my friend & former Antubetwe e Kiongo ward MCA Hon. George Kaliunga-Balala who has been shot dead by armed bandits in pursuit of stolen livestock at Kinanduba-Igembe North in Meru County.”Munya further said,” He was an astute leader in the community who always championed community’s interests. My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mheshimiwa Kaliunga Balala<\/p>\n\n\n\n
