East Africa Community Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano has been ranked the<\/strong> worst-performing CS with a 0.1 per cent rating,<\/a> according to a report by research firm Infotrak.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report, released on Tuesday, evaluated the performance of CSs during their first ten months in office, classifying those with scores below 1% as the worst performers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zachary Njeru (Lands) and Florence Bore (Labour) were ranked slightly better than Miano with a 0.2% rating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Energy CS Davis Chirchir and his Cooperatives counterpart, Simon Chelugui, both scored 0.3%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Njuguna Ndung’u (Treasury) and Salim Mvurya (Mining) tied at 0.4 %, while Soipan Tuya (Environment), Aisha Jumwa (Public Service) and Peninah Malonza (Tourism) both scored one per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki was ranked as the best-performing CS with 33%, followed by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu at 13%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Susan Nakhumicha (Health) was ranked third with 8%, while Kipchumba Murkomen and Mithika Linturi scored 6% each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sports CS Ababu Namwamba garnered 4%, while the ICT sector (Eliud Owalo) and Foreign Affairs (Alfred Mutua) each received a 3%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of public sentiment, 53% of Kenyans believed that the nation was headed in the wrong direction, while 30% expressed confidence in the efforts of the Kenya Kwanza government under President William Ruto. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the areas which doubted Ruto’s leadership were Western (68%), Nyanza (67%), Nairobi (61%), and Eastern (56%). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reasons cited for their lack of confidence in the government included the high cost of living (89%), unemployment (34%), poor governance (20%), poverty (12%), bad politics ( 8%) and low quality of education at five per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poor infrastructure, quality of healthcare, unresolved land issues, and high taxation were also highlighted as areas where the government was lagging. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
