\u201cMr President, it is with deep concern that my spouse and I recently became aware of the catastrophic flooding that has afflicted Kenya and the surrounding region, continuing to affect numerous citizens. We can scarcely fathom the distress experienced by those who have lost loved ones and witnessed the devastation of their livelihoods,\u201d part of their statement read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur heartfelt thoughts are with the emergency responders and others tirelessly assisting those severely impacted. The heightened unpredictability and intensity of weather phenomena serve as a stark reminder of the urgent necessity for global collaboration and swift action to mitigate and adapt to climate change.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflecting on their State visit to Kenya last year, during which they engaged in discussions regarding climate change and biodiversity preservation, the monarch underscored the shared responsibility of all nations in addressing these challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs we reminisce about the warm reception we received during our previous visit and the strong bond between our nations, we extend our deepest sympathies and affection to the people of Kenya,\u201d they conveyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the aftermath of heavy rainfall and flooding in numerous regions, resulting in at least eight fatalities within the past 24 hours and a cumulative death toll of 238, an update provided by Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki\u2019s Interior Ministry highlighted the extensive impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report indicated 174 reported injuries, 75 individuals reported missing, and displacement of 47,000 families, totaling 235,000 individuals. Moreover, 167 camps have been established across 22 counties, accommodating 70,451 individuals affected by the deluge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
