As of April 2024, numerous defaulters owe between Ksh50,000 and Ksh31 million in overdue rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To incentivize payment, the governor has offered a complete waiver on penalties, allowing landowners to pay the original land rates. &#8220;Owners of all the LR numbers with balances as of 11th April 2024 are advised to make their outstanding Land Rates payments within 14 days of this notice,&#8221; the notice declared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Land rate invoices can be obtained at the NCCG Service Centre on the 1st Floor of City Hall, or through self-service by creating an account on the Nairobipay online portal. The county government also urged owners of the listed properties to clear their outstanding land rates arrears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Failure to comply will result in penalties, interest, and enforcement actions, including the auction of properties by the Nairobi City County Government,&#8221; the notice warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The county maintains a no-cash policy for revenue collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"350\" src=\"https:\/\/www.getufm.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Nairobi-estates-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15038\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.getufm.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Nairobi-estates-1.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.getufm.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Nairobi-estates-1-480x240.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 700px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Physical planner Patrick Analo, the Nairobi County Secretary and Head of the County Public Service, identified 16 affected zones, including Westlands, Starehe, Ruaraka, Roysambu, Mathare, Makadara, Lang&#8217;ata, Kasarani, Kibra, Kamukunji, Dagoretti North, and Dagoretti South.
