Magistrate Felix Kombo ruled that the state failed to present a strong case against Sudi, noting that the inability to produce and substantiate the documents undermined the charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Magistrate Kombo criticized the investigative agencies for the questionable methods used to obtain some of the evidence, specifically pointing out issues with how evidence was collected from a hotel, which raised credibility concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sudi&#8217;s defense team maintained that he was qualified and possessed genuine academic papers. &#8220;We appreciate the court&#8217;s consideration of the evidence and its analysis. Our client is qualified and does not have fake certificates, as alleged. He has been set free by the court,&#8221; the defense stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The defense also highlighted that the case had dragged on for about eight years, making the acquittal a significant relief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The acquittal followed testimony from former Highway Secondary School principal, Patrick Maritim, who told the court that Sudi did not sit for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams at the school in 2006. Maritim stated that Sudi&#8217;s purported index number could not be traced and that there were no records showing Sudi collected his result slip and school leaving certificate after completing Form Four.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, MP Sudi, a close ally of President William Ruto, is involved in political supremacy battles with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
