It examines the potential impact of this stalemate on the United Democratic Alliance&#8217;s (UDA) popularity in the Mount Kenya region and evaluates the Deputy President&#8217;s efforts to consolidate support in this area. The research delves into regional dynamics and how they might shift in response to the evolving political situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Survey Methodology:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The survey employed a random, multi-stage stratified sampling method proportionate to county populations, based on the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census. It involved 2,392 respondents from Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, Nyeri, Murang&#8217;a, Kiambu, Nakuru, Nyandarua, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, and Nairobi counties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Public Awareness and Opinion:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Awareness of Presidential Differences:<\/strong> 75% of respondents were aware of differences within the presidency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Impact on Deputy President:<\/strong> 66% believed these differences would affect the Deputy President, with 43% predicting a negative national impact and 35% foreseeing positive effects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mount Kenya Region Unity:<\/strong> 39% believed the region was already united, 33% doubted the Deputy President&#8217;s ability to unite the area, and 15% remained optimistic about his chances.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Impact on UDA Party:<\/strong> 53% suggested that a fallout between the President and Deputy President would affect the UDA party&#8217;s influence, while 41% believed the party would maintain its regional hold.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2027 Election Projections:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Potential Running Mates for President William Ruto:<\/strong> Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki emerged as the frontrunner, followed by Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua&#8217;s Prospects:<\/strong> 82.7% of respondents indicated that Gachagua would be unlikely to succeed if he ran for president in 2027, with 95.6% stating they would not vote for him.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Potential Challengers:<\/strong> Azimio leader Raila Odinga was identified by 32.6% of respondents as the most likely candidate to challenge the incumbent president in 2027, while 26.2% felt it was too early to predict the next national polls.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About Politrack Africa:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Politrack Africa is a private limited company incorporated under the Companies Act 2015.
