According to NCIC Chairperson Samuel Kobia, the commission has received a total of 67 cases, with 43 currently in various stages of investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kobia detailed the progress of these cases, noting that two are currently before the court, 13 have been concluded, and another 13 have been conciliated under the NCI Act of 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to these cases, the commission has also been addressing social media issues. The NCIC flagged 44 discrimination cases, out of which 24 pertain to incitement, 6 to hate speech, 93 to misinformation, and 68 to disinformation, bringing the total number of social media-related cases to 268.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chairperson Kobia emphasized the commission&#8217;s commitment to fostering national cohesion and curbing divisive rhetoric. &#8220;The NCIC is steadfast in its mission to promote peace and unity in Kenya. We are working diligently to investigate and resolve cases of hate speech and other forms of discrimination that threaten our national fabric,&#8221; he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The commission&#8217;s efforts are part of a broader initiative to ensure that Kenya remains a cohesive and integrated nation.
