President William Ruto has signed the Supplementary Appropriations Bill, officially endorsing a plan to cut government expenditure by Ksh145.7 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The signing ceremony at State House was attended by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. The presidency, which includes the offices of the President and Deputy President, will face a significant reduction in spending by Ksh6 billion in the 2024\/2025 financial year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Treasury’s budget will be reduced by Ksh7 billion, while the transport sector, including road projects, will see a Ksh17.3 billion cut in recurrent expenditure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, various development projects under medical services will have Ksh6.9 billion trimmed from their budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
