The suspect, who had been on the run since the crime, was apprehended in Kaptebengwet, Koinin Constituency, where he had been hiding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sotik Sub-County Police Commander Andrew Mbogo confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect is currently being held at Sotik Police Station and will soon be arraigned in court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The arrest follows the earlier apprehension of Vicky Chirchir, the mother of the two girls, aged 12 and 9. Chirchir was arrested last week for her alleged involvement in the murders. Authorities believe that she and the suspect, with whom she had been cohabiting, collaborated in the killings. The two girls were found buried in a shallow grave within their family compound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Mbogo, Chirchir had tried to flee after learning that the authorities had discovered their crime but was caught and taken into custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police investigations suggest that Chirchir and her accomplice plotted the murders because the man had not fathered the girls.
