On Thursday, November 7, the High Court scheduled another hearing date for the petitions disputing the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua as Deputy President. The three-judge panel\u2014Justices Eric Ogola, Frida Mugambi, and Anthony Mrima\u2014rescheduled the hearing to January 23, 2025, a move that appears to bring the contentious case closer to resolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This development follows Gachagua\u2019s decision, through his legal team led by Senior Counsel Paul Muite, to withdraw an appeal that sought to challenge the High Court\u2019s handling of his impeachment case.
