The Universities Academic Staff Union (UASU) has issued a fresh strike notice, threatening to disrupt learning at the University of Nairobi if their demands are not met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This comes just days after the High Court ordered the reinstatement of Professor Amukowa Anangwe as the chairperson of the university council, a move that has intensified tensions within the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UASU has accused the government of failing to address concerns over alleged mismanagement, warning that continued inaction could lead to a complete breakdown of operations at the university. The union has reiterated its earlier strike threat from February 25, vowing to proceed with industrial action unless swift corrective measures are implemented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, UASU is calling for the immediate dissolution of the university council, in line with recommendations made by the Parliamentary Committee on Education. The looming strike has raised fears of academic disruptions, with stakeholders urging the government to intervene and resolve the standoff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
