{"id":7804,"date":"2022-05-27T08:17:24","date_gmt":"2022-05-27T08:17:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.getufm.co.ke\/?p=7804"},"modified":"2022-05-27T08:17:30","modified_gmt":"2022-05-27T08:17:30","slug":"detectives-fines-5-suspects-for-kidnapping-a-man-and-demanding-ksh-100000","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.getufm.co.ke\/?p=7804","title":{"rendered":"Detectives fines 5 suspects for kidnapping a man and demanding Ksh 100,000"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Detectives at Directorate of Criminal Investigations have detained five suspects among them being three women and two men for kidnapping a man and demanding a sum of Ksh 100,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The arrest came following an operation from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations agents Monday when they stormed a house where one of the victims was being held hostage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The five identified by police as Joseph Makau Patric Wekesa,Rehema Njeri Vigilance Mumbiand Hadija Ongai had met the man in social media and lured him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The victim called his family members claiming that he had gotten involved in an accident and needed 100,000 for treatment however special agent who followed cyber forensic led to the house where the victim was held hostage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was found naked while the five waited for the money so that they could set the man free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DCI said that the suspects mostly target men of Caucasian origin whom they would lure to a house behind Ruaraka\u2019s Naivas supermarket, with a promise of giving offering them a \u2018good time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The five are also involved in similar incident that occurred in Paklands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They will be arraigned in Court today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"630\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.getufm.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/dci-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7806\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.getufm.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/dci-1.jpg 630w, https:\/\/www.getufm.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/dci-1-480x360.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 630px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Detectives at Directorate of Criminal Investigations have detained five suspects among them being three women and two men for kidnapping a man and demanding a sum of Ksh 100,000.
