Since 2010, they have not won even the AFCON TROPHY ,lost the finals in this year\u2019s competition, they failed to qualify for the 2022 World cup and they have just sacked their coach, just two months after his promotion. After the Football Federation announced that the next coach will (again) be a foreigner, some domestic journalists reached out to the most successful Egypt manager ever &#8211;\u00a0<strong>Hassan Shehata<\/strong>. Former player and coach (retired in 2021) still holds the record for winning three consecutive AFCON\u2019s: 2006, 2008, and 2010. He\u00a0is one of only two coaches to win the Africa Cup 3 times, along with Ghana&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Charles Gyamfi<\/strong>.\u00a0So, when he has something to say, the nation listens.
