Through a statement released on Thursday, October 27, his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, revealed that the government was at an advanced stage of concluding talks with a US corporation seeking to bankroll the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Millenium Challenge Corporation, Gachagua stated, bought into the government&#8217;s idea of revamping the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kenyans.co.ke\/news\/80942-washington-ochieng-uk-based-expert-tasked-fixing-nairobi-traffic-jam\">Nairobi transport system<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The grant is set to be channelled into different projects in the city, including the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kenyans.co.ke\/news\/80716-inside-murkomens-plan-transform-kenyan-roads-ease-traffic-snarl-ups\">railway network, different roads, and even airports<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President Ruto&#8217;s government is also poised to use the money to revive stalled projects in Nairobi, led by Governor Johnson Sakaja and improve the public transport system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gachagua publicised the deal after holding talks with the US ambassador to Kenya, Meg Whitman, and other top government officials from President Joe Biden&#8217;s administration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President william ruto and his government lead by rigathi gachagua have revealed that they are on a process to implement a 7.2Billion that will help reduce traffic jam in the capital Nairobi for good.
