In a bid to boost population in Murang’a county, Governor Irungu Kang’ata says pregnancies will be rewarded.

Expectant ladies in the county will be rewarded KSh 6,000 each, with KSh 2,000 of it paid during the last two months of the pregnancy.

The low population growth in the county has been attributed to, among other reasons, the youth ‘refusing’ to marry.
