Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has issued an apology for his previous comments regarding the anticipated rise in fuel prices. In a statement posted on his social media account, Kuria acknowledged that he had made a mistake in his earlier remarks, describing them as incorrect, insensitive, and arrogant. He expressed regret for any offense caused and stated that he had been advised by others that the fuel prices are expected to decrease. Previously, Kuria had defended his projection of a potential fuel price increase until February 2024, but critics had accused him of disregarding the well-being of Kenyan citizens. He had attributed the fuel price increase to global and climate change factors and urged responsible leadership in addressing the issue.
