Nairobi City Stars head coach Nicholas Muyoti has urged his fringe players to step in the remaining five matches of the season with the team facing an injury crisis with just a month left before the season comes to a close.Simba wa Nairobi have a couple of key players ruled out for the foreseeable future through injuries. They include Peter Opiyo, Erick Ombija, Ronny Kola, Steve Njunge, Lennox Ogutu, Oliver Maloba and Vincent Otieno. Maloba, with fractured ribs has been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign as he will require at least six weeks to recover fully. The injuries, Muyoti admits have dealt his team a big blow but wants the fit players to step and fill the void left by the sidelined. He challenged the players to stop joyriding and show that they deserve to wear the Simba wa Nairobi Jersey.”It (the injuries) are affecting us and that means some players are joyriders and these are the players that we need to get rid of because if they can’t step in such a situation and why should they be in the team,” the tactician said after Monday’s 1-0 win over Wazito FC.Next for Muyoti’s charges is a home match against title-chasing Tusker FC.
