President William Ruto’s call for the international community to allocate resources for addressing impediments to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) highlights the importance of aligning global capital with sustainable growth. He emphasized that many African countries face challenges like debt, inflation, climate shocks, and conflicts that hinder SDG implementation. By increasing Africa’s access to global development capital, he believes the continent’s vast potential in natural resources, arable land, and human capital can be unlocked. These remarks were made during his co-chairing of the United Nations General Assembly SDG dialogue on Science and Technology Innovation and data for transformative action, alongside Slovenia President NataĊĦa Pirc Musar.
