Police in Homa Bay Yesterday night arrested five suspects who were planning to disrupt the ongoing tallying process in Homa Bay town and Kabondo Kasipul constituencies.

The police also recovered weapons and a teargas canister.

In Homa Bay town, the security officers arrested four men who were armed with knives, clubs and a teargas canister near Tom Mboya University which is the county tallying centre.

According to Homa Bay Sub-county Police Commander Sammy Koskey the suspects were walking 500 metres from the gate of the county tallying centre when police intercepted and arrested them in possession of the weapons before they were taken to Homa Bay police station.
