Speaking during the exercise the Director of Public Health Dr Francis Kuria noted that lifting of restrictions has over seen the rise of Covid 19 infections.

The government is targeting over 800,000 Form Four leavers in the latest campaign as part of its strategy to ensure 50 per cent of the teenage population is protected against the pandemic.

Health Principal Secretary Susan Mochache has urged parents and guardians to encourage teenagers to get vaccinated as a way to protect the more vulnerable senior citizens against Covid-19.

The PS spoke when she presided over the official launch of the hastened Covid-19 vaccination campaign in Kibra, Nairobi.

Mochache added on that the government targets to vaccinate 100 per cent adult population and 50 per cent of the teenagers.

This comes after the increase in number of cases currently in the country.
