World Press Freedom Day in Meru County

Members of the Meru Press Club and journalists based in Meru joined the globe in marking the World Press Freedom Day 2023. They addressed the press before retreating for an indoor meeting to discuss critical issues of our welfare and progress.Key among the issues raised in the presser are:Safety and security of journalistsMental health issues among journalists due to poor remuneration Challenges in access to information in the county government of Meru. They called upon the county government of Meru to establish a responsive communication directorate since the current one is not useful to journalists
