Former Cameroon’s

Defense Minister, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o Abraham, has been jailed for 30 years while his wife Bernadette Mebe Ngo’o received a 10-year jail sentence by the Special Criminal Court for embezzlement.

He was found guilty of embezzling the sum of FCFA 23.943 billion for over-invoicing on the purchase of war materials from Brazil, at the time he served as Minister of Defense. His wife Bernadette Mebe Ngo’o was found guilty of complicity in the embezzlement of public funds FCFA 5 billion.
