According to Zephaniah kiambi he was waken at 1am by noise his calves were making, he went out to check on them only to proceed to find out that all his cattle had disappeared without a trace.
This incident has been confirmed by Mariango village head, Kiambi say’s that his cattle were his only source of income and that he intended to sell two bulls to pay for his children’s school fees.
A jolted Zephaniah is now appealing to the authorities to help him recover his livestock which are his only source of livelihood.
This comes almost a week after prof.Kindiki deployed an anti-stock theft unit to neighbouring Meru. Livestock theft has recently become rampant in Tharaka and Meru and the government is making efforts to get ahead of the matter.
