Chuka University has finally received new vice-chancellor, Prof Henry Mutembei M’Ikiugu.Prof Mutembei who has served in the university as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Administration, Finance, Planning and Development (AFPD) affairs will be officially inaugurated on Friday this week together with the newly appointed council.Prof Mutembei, a jovial man takes over the leadership of the ‘prophetic’ university in a substantive capacity from Prof Erastus Nyaga Njoka who was the founder of the institution.After Prof Njoka resigned at the tail-end of his second term to run for Tharaka Nithi County governorship early last year, Prof Dorcas Isutsa took over as the varsity’s vice-chancellor position in an acting capacity.Prof Isutsa however did not even appear for interviews after she was dropped at the initial stage.After the word went around that Prof Mutembei, a man loved by university students and staff went round that he had been considered for the prime position, congratulatory messages started pouring on social media.
