The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has said that it will work with large taxpayers to ensure that they remit Sh1.1 trillion in taxes to the government in the 2023–24 financial year (FY).

Through this, the taxman will collect an additional Sh282 billion in this fiscal year compared to Sh818 billion in the previous FY.

According to the KRA, big taxpayers are those who accrue an annual income of up to Sh1.3 billion.

At the moment, there are 2,089 registered large taxpayers from various sectors of the country’s economy.

Speaking during an engagement with large taxpayers held at the Ole Sereni Hotel in Nairobi, KRA Commissioner General Humphrey Wattanga said that KRA has developed a Relationship Management Framework that will help facilitate the taxpayers’ contribution.

“At KRA, our commitment is not only to collect taxes but also to support you in upholding compliance, while efficiently contributing to our nation’s economic agenda,” Wattanga said.
