A Kericho man has drowned and died in a river while escaping an arrest from the Assistant County Commissioner.
According to media reports, the deceased had stolen his mother’s cow intending to sell it for his own benefit.
His kins realized that their mother’s cow was missing and started to pursue the thief and it was during the pursuit, they were informed that their brother had been spotted with the cow.
They quickly rushed to where their brother had been spotted and caught up with him. Upon nabbing him, they started to frog-match him as a punishment.
It was during the frog matching that the Assistant Chief and the Assistant County Commissioner passed by and the deceased had to run away for fear of being arrested.
Attempts to swim across the swollen river to avoid being arrested proved futile and he drowned midway.
