Former Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech revealed that a FIFA delegate has disclosed to him that Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania need to demonstrate their preparedness to host the 2027 African Cup of Nations within the next two years or risk forfeiting the hosting rights.

The trio of East African nations, originally granted the rights to host the biannual event, must exhibit readiness within the next 24 months to retain their hosting privileges.

Oliech shared this information during an interview with Citizen TV.

“A FIFA delegate has told me that we have to be ready in the next two years. If we are not ready, we will not host it.”
