In a harrowing incident unfolding early Monday morning, residents of Kairungu Location in Kitui County were thrust into a state of shock and outrage as news spread of a horrific crime committed within their community. Allegations arose that a 36-year-old man had brutally murdered his 49-year-old wife, instantly ending her life by decapitating her and leaving her body abandoned by the roadside in Mbagwani Village.
They pursued him for 20 kilometres and later caught up with him and demanded to be shown where the head was. The suspect complied and took them to the location and also showed them the murder weapon.
According to the local chief Daniel Kyumbo, cases of wrangles between the suspect and his deceased wife had been reported on a couple of occasions.
