To obtain a replacement for a lost or damaged passport, the fee has been revised to Ksh. 20,000 from Ksh. 12,000 for lost passports and Ksh. 10,000 for damaged passports. Additionally, applicants seeking an express passport will incur a fee of Ksh. 30,000.
In the updated fee structure, the cost to regain citizenship after renouncing it has surged tenfold, escalating 10 times from Ksh. 5,000 to Ksh. 50,000.
Visitors to Kenya will now face higher entry costs, with a single-entry visa priced at 100 US dollars, up from the previous 50 dollars. Similarly, the fee for a multiple-entry visa has surged to 500 dollars from 100 dollars, while transit visas now command a price of 50 dollars, compared to the previous 20 dollars.
In addition, those seeking permanent residence for Kenyan children born abroad in countries prohibiting dual citizenship will be required to pay Ksh.750,000, a significant increase from the previous Ksh.500,000. Spouses of Kenyan citizens applying for permanent residence will also face higher fees, with the cost rising to Ksh.150,000 from Ksh.50,000.
