Police in Embu West have uncovered a significant stash of counterfeit alcoholic beverages, seizing 67 crates from a rented house in Kivue. During a raid on the premises, security officers discovered crates of fake beer and numerous cartons of illicit spirits, cleverly packaged in bottles resembling well-known brands and adorned with counterfeit KRA compliance stickers and QR scanning codes.

Nicholas Mwangi, the county police commander, revealed that the sellers of these counterfeit goods utilize sacks to smuggle them into the area, then distribute them throughout the county using motorcycles.

Despite the operation, no suspects have been apprehended. However, a manhunt has been launched for two key individuals: the owner of the raided house, who absconded during the police raid, and a motorcyclist responsible for transporting the counterfeit beverages.
