Having switched legal representation from Hassan Nandwa, Jowie is gearing up for a fresh legal strategy in his bid for exoneration. The decision to contest the verdict comes after Jowie was found guilty of the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani in September 2018. The sentencing, delivered by Justice Nzioka, saw Jowie facing the maximum penalty of death for the heinous crime.

In her ruling, Justice Nzioka emphasized the prosecution’s compelling evidence and Jowie’s character, which she deemed consistent with the crime. However, Jowie’s legal team expressed their dissent following the judgment, underscoring their respect for the court while signaling their intent to challenge the decision through the appeals process.

With the stage set for a contentious legal battle, observers await further developments in this high-profile case, as Jowie prepares to make his case heard once more in the courtroom.
