Farmers nationwide are facing uncertainty following conflicting directives from the Ministry of Agriculture over the past week.

The confusion arose when Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi issued directives that contradicted earlier instructions from the State Department of Agriculture’s Principal Secretary Dr. Paul Ronoh.

These directives come amidst allegations of the circulation of counterfeit state-subsidized fertilizer and reports of seizures across the country.

In a tweet posted on his official page Thursday evening, CS Linturi instructed all National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) and Kenya Seeds Company outlets to remain open during the Easter holiday. This decision aims to ensure that farmers have access to necessary resources during the planting season.
