Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja has unveiled plans for the construction of a Ksh 156 million Dancing Fountain and Night Club at Uhuru Park. Additionally, he outlined that the county government would initiate a tendering process to invite investors to establish recreational facilities, including a night club.

Speaking during the official handing over of Uhuru Park on Thursday, April 18, Sakaja noted that further improvements would be made to the national monument, totaling Ksh500 million in investment. He highlighted plans to install manual gym equipment in the park to cater to residents interested in fitness activities.

Additionally, in collaboration with other companies, two basketball courts will be constructed within the park premises. The existing pond will undergo drainage to facilitate refurbishment, aiming for clearer water.

The governor emphasized that the majority of these enhancements would be completed within the next nine months, entirely financed by the county government. He reiterated that entry to the park would remain free, but visitors would need to pass through identity guards to enhance security and maintain cleanliness.
