A Maseno University student, Jacktone Oluoch Owiti was arrested for committing the heinous act against first year students on the night of April 14, 2024.
He is held in custody following his involvement in the violent robbery and rape and one of the victims’ phones which was stolen was found under his possession.
According to DCI the victims who are both first year students aged 19 and 20 , they were attacked in their room by two assailants who were armed with a machete and a dagger late at night.
Kisumu West detectives caught up with one of the suspects after several days and they noted that they have new leads to his accomplice .
