The two officers, Raymond Adungo and Osiya Odera were reportedly in civilian clothing and unarmed encountered hostility from locals in Musole village.

They were allegedly investigating a suspect involved in the making of illicit brews in a private mission.

The officers were attacked by the public and suffered severe injuries on their limbs suspected to have been inflicted by blunt objects.

They were rushed to Nabuala Hospital by a good Samaritan and were admitted. They are currently in a stable condition.

One of the police officers investigating the case advised all law enforcement authorities to always be armed when conducting any mission to avoid such instances.
