Matatu Owners Association, CEO Patricia Mutheu reveals concerns about the crowded stages in Nairobi and the plans to eliminate the matatus in order to create a more suitable transport system across the city.
She acknowledges the change to be inevitable due to the growing population in Nairobi and that it would require proper planning to execute the plan.
Howbeit, there are complains on the loss of jobs in the matatu business as the vehicles would require less manpower and carry more passengers.
In response to the concerns , CEO Mutheu gave out two solutions that would likely solve the major problems affecting the matatu business system; applying a cashless system for all matatus and a developed infrastructure.
