Although Kuria did not mention DP Gachagua directly, his description was clear enough for observers to conclude that he was referring to Gachagua. The Limuru III conference, set to be held on Friday, aims to bring together political heavyweights from the Mt. Kenya region to discuss key political issues affecting the area, including conflicts among leaders.

In addition to alleging that Gachagua sponsored the event, CS Kuria further claimed that the event was being organized by Azimio leader Martha Karua, embattled Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, and former Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi, all affiliated with the opposition coalition. In a previous statement, the organizers explained that the event was open to anyone willing to attend. However, in the ongoing debacle, Moses Kuria alleged that Kioni informed him that he was not welcome.
