On Monday, UEFA officials bestowed the Champions League Player of the Season honor upon Vinicius Junior, acknowledging his instrumental role in leading Real Madrid to European glory. His teammate, Jude Bellingham, was also celebrated, earning the Young Player of the Season award.
The Brazilian forward Vinicius tallied six goals and provided five assists throughout Real Madrid’s triumphant campaign, including a pivotal second goal in their 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the final at Wembley on Saturday.
This victory crowned Real Madrid as European champions for an unprecedented 15th time. England midfielder Bellingham shone in his inaugural season with the Spanish giants, scoring four goals and making five assists in the Champions League, and contributing to their Spanish league title win.
“I can’t put it into words,” Bellingham remarked. “It’s the best night of my life. It’s got to be up there in terms of the perfect season.”
