The Kenya University and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened its portal for Inter-institution transfer, allowing 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) students to modify their chosen institutions.

Applicants desiring to switch or transfer institutions must submit their applications via the placement service portal. According to KUCCPS, this process also permits course changes, provided applicants meet the relevant cut-off points.

Applicants have 30 days to make their desired changes, with the portal closing on July 4.

To qualify for a transfer, the applicant must have been placed in the program they wish to transfer from. Applicants need to log into the KUCCPS portal at https://t.co/GgsBhEJQ1b

Once logged in, applicants must enter their KCSE Index Number, KCSE Year, and Password. Students are advised to use their Birth Certificate or KCPE Number (as used in KCSE Exam Registration) as the initial password.

After accessing the portal, applicants can select their preferred institutions, ensuring they meet the cut-off points. This announcement follows the National Assembly Education committee’s directive for the Ministry of Education to withdraw all university admission letters due to alleged discrepancies in the fees required from students.

The directive to recall the admission letters stems from the Ministry of Education allegedly imposing the full amount of school fees on students, disregarding their classification under the new funding model.
