President William Ruto is set to embark on yet another journey, this time to Egypt, immediately following his attendance at a summit in South Korea.

In an interview with media house, the Head of State disclosed his upcoming trip to Cairo, where he will participate in discussions aimed at strategizing ways to foster peace in conflict-ridden African nations such as Somalia, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and Sudan. Ruto expressed deep concern over the lack of attention given to these African conflicts compared to international crises like those in Ukraine and Gaza.

“We need to expedite peace talks through initiatives like IGAD and the Jeddah Initiative,” Ruto emphasized, referring to regional peace efforts. He also mentioned ongoing peace negotiations in Nairobi and highlighted plans for further collaboration with American counterparts.

Furthermore, Ruto stressed the importance of dialogue in addressing conflicts in the DRC, emphasizing that military solutions are inadequate.

Currently attending the Korea-Africa Summit in South Korea, President Ruto secured a substantial loan of Ksh30.8 billion from the Korea Exim Bank for the development of the Konza Digital Media City. This funding, aimed at transforming Konza Technopolis into a premier hub for film and creative industries, marks a significant milestone in Kenya’s partnership with South Korea.
