Kigumo, Murang’a County – On Wednesday, July 10, an enraged mob stormed a police station in Kigumo, Murang’a County, overpowering officers and killing a suspected murderer within the station’s walls.

The suspect, accused of killing his own brother, had been in police custody awaiting further investigation when villagers, infuriated by the alleged fratricide, swarmed the station. Overwhelming the officers on duty, the mob broke into the cells and beat the suspect to death.

Footage of the riot, showing villagers hurling stones and vandalizing police vehicles, has spread rapidly across social media, highlighting the chaos that engulfed the village.

This violent eruption leaves many questions unanswered, particularly regarding the events leading up to the mob’s deadly decision.

As of now, the police have not released an official statement on the matter, leaving the community and the nation in suspense. The incident raises serious concerns about security and the rule of law in the area.
