President William Ruto has nominated Beatrice Askul Moe as the new Cabinet Secretary for East African Community (EAC) Affairs and Regional Development. The announcement was made through a communique by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei.
Moe, a social scientist, brings a diverse background to the position. She previously served as the County Executive Committee Member in charge of Water, Irrigation, Agriculture, and Land Reclamation in the Turkana County Government. Her extensive experience in regional development and public service is expected to contribute significantly to her new role.
The nomination is now subject to parliamentary approval, where Moe’s qualifications and experience will be scrutinized. If confirmed, she will oversee Kenya’s engagements with the East African Community and spearhead regional development initiatives.
