Tragedy struck on Tuesday when two people lost their lives and ten others sustained critical injuries in a road accident along the Gitaru-Kikuyu Road in Kiambu County.
Witnesses reported that the bus, owned by Archbishop Ezekiel’s group of schools, lost control and collided with an oncoming trailer. The impact caused the bus, which was fully loaded with passengers, to veer off the highway and overturn in a nearby thicket.
Rescue teams were swiftly dispatched to the scene, where they, alongside members of the public, managed to retrieve those trapped inside the wreckage.
It is reported that the bus had been hired by members of the public for an event and was attempting to join Waiyaki Way when the accident occurred.
