Security detail for High Court Judge Lawrence Mugambi has been withdrawn immediately, just three days after he sentenced Acting Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli to six months in prison for contempt of court.
Mugambi had previously raised concerns about being monitored by police officers, particularly following several summonses issued to the acting IG. Senior police officers had reportedly contacted Mugambi’s driver and bodyguard inquiring about his location, which heightened his concerns.
