Kenya and Tanzania have pledged to implement a 15-point strategy aimed at protecting the vulnerable Mara River basin, a crucial ecosystem that supports the Masai Mara and Serengeti parks, which are under threat of degradation.

The plan is designed to accelerate ongoing conservation efforts and strengthen collaboration between the two nations to safeguard the basin, which sustains millions of people, wildlife, and the globally renowned wildebeest migration, a natural wonder.

The announcement was made during the 13th Mara Day celebrations in Masai Mara, where delegates from both countries, along with researchers, conservationists, and local residents, gathered to discuss the future of the ecosystem.
