Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has raised concerns over an alleged plan to use incitement charges against MPs and staff members aligned with him to justify his impeachment. Gachagua revealed that his staff and supporters have been facing harassment over the past two months. He further disclosed that the scheme targets three of his staff members, as well as two MPs—James Gakuya (Embakasi North) and Benjamin Gathiru Mejja Donk (Embakasi Central)—who are set to face charges.
