Lawyer-turned-activist Morara Kebaso appeared at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi on Tuesday, following his arrest by detectives at his office in Kahawa Sukari.
The prosecution presented several charges against Kebaso, including cyber harassment in violation of Section 27 of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act. According to the charge sheet, on September 28, 2024, Kebaso, along with accomplices, allegedly posted false information about businessman David Langat.
The charge sheet details that Kebaso, using his X Corp account @MoraraKebasoSnr, knowingly shared misleading claims, accusing President William Ruto of deceiving Langat into lending large sums of money, which was not refunded. The post further alleges that Langat, after taking loans to support the president, faced financial losses and had property worth millions seized by the government.
