Health Cabinet Secretary Dr. Deborah Barasa has called on Kenyans to register en masse for the recently launched Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) program, emphasizing its affordability and inclusiveness for all citizens.

Speaking at the official launch of the Social Health Authority (SHA) program in Eldoret, Dr. Barasa assured that those who enroll will access free medication at lower public health facilities.

“If you register, you’ll receive treatment and medication for free at health centers,” Dr. Barasa stated.

She further noted that a 2.75% income contribution would grant access to services at higher-level facilities, including coverage for serious conditions like cancer and diabetes.
