The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced a marginal increase in fuel prices effective Tuesday evening, marking the first hike since November 2023.
Super petrol will now retail at Sh176.58 per litre in Nairobi, an increase of 29 cents. Diesel, a critical fuel for transport, manufacturing, and agriculture, has risen by Sh2 per litre to Sh167.06, while kerosene, widely used for domestic purposes, has gone up by Sh3 per litre to Sh151.39.
The adjustments follow months of declining fuel prices driven by global oil market trends and the strengthening of the Kenyan shilling. The price changes will remain in effect for the next month, influencing costs across various sectors of the economy.
